Indianapolis Colts Ice Dye

Colts ice dye is an exercise in elegant simplicity. Working with a blue-and-gray palette means the focus is entirely on tonal depth rather than color contrast. The Speed Blue Procion MX is a rich, slightly purple-toned navy that splits beautifully under ice — you'll see royal blue, steel blue, and hints of indigo all emerging from a single dye application.

The gray element is achieved through controlled dye application rather than a separate gray dye. We leave strategic sections of the Comfort Colors blank with minimal coverage, allowing the natural off-white or heather gray to create the silver-gray counterpart. The ice melt naturally creates soft gradient edges between the blue and the undyed areas, producing a sophisticated tonal piece.

For Colts colorways, we favor a fold-and-crumple hybrid technique that creates broad sections of saturated blue interspersed with lighter areas. The result is a piece with excellent depth variation — deep navy pools in the creases, bright blue on the exposed surfaces, and soft gray-white in the protected folds.
