Electric Green & Black Ice Dye Tee, Crewneck, or Hoodie

Electric green runs against black on this fleece-lined ice-dye crewneck, with gray also present in the listed palette. The sharp green-and-dark contrast is the point of this sweatshirt.

I arrange the crewneck in folds, work in soda ash, then mound ice and dry dye above it. As the ice gives way over about twenty-four hours, green breaks through the darker field along routes unique to that bundle.

I hand dye the black and electric green crewneck in York, Pennsylvania; wash it cold inside out and tumble dry low.
